The Spicy Mystery series ran for 73 issues in total, from July 1934 through December 1942 where it was retitled Speed Mysteries. In this group of pulps variously titled Spicy Mystery Stories, Spicy Adventure Stories, Spicy Detective Stories, and Spicy Western Stories, the word “Spicy” meant “Sexy”, and were true to their word.
