An unpublished Keller manuscript, the only other copy (again in manuscript form) is found at Swarthmore College along with Keller’s archive and papers. This copy is signed/inscribed by David H. Keller to Sam Moskowitz. Keller, a pulp writer for science fiction, fantasy and horror genres, was noted for being the first known psychiatrist to write for the pulp world. Pseudonyms include: Monk Smith, Matthew Smith, Amy Worth, Henry Cecil, Cecilia Henry, and Jacobus Hubelaire. Keller’s work was published in Gernsback’s first issue of Science Wonder Stories (he was listed as an associate editor, as well). It is said that a loan from Keller prevented Arkham from bankruptcy in difficult times.
